A 120 million United States of America dollar
potato farm and processing plant is underway
in Kaduna state, northwest Nigeria.
It is situated in Manchok, headquarters of
Kaura Local government area in the southern
part of the state.
At the ground breaking ceremony, state
authorities said more than sixty percent of its
by-product would be for export.
Tesem Akende reports that it’s a project that
when completed would generate about thirty
thousand jobs.
Papers for land where the plant is being sited
were put together in less than a week.
The project is just one out of many projects
under execution by the Nasir El-Rufai-led
government.
Authorities say they are making Kaduna state
investor friendly adding that the vision of the
El-Rufai-led government is to have a state that
would not be dependent on allocation from the
federation account.
